Swansea reject Everton's £10m offer for skipper Ashley Williams
Swansea have rejected Everton’s £10m offer for skipper Ashley Williams.
A deal appeared to be in place to take the 31-year-old to Goodison Park as Ronald Koeman looks to bolster his squad.
The two clubs held talks over the switch on Tuesday but the proposed move is now on the brink of collapse, reports WalesOnline.
It had been thought Swansea were open to the proposal of finally cashing-in on Williams after years of resisting big money bids for their skipper.
But it emerged late on Tuesday that Swansea had moved to bat away Everton’s £10m bid – with the club stressing they have never looked to sell one of their most vital players.
A Swansea spokesman said: “Ashley Williams is an important part of our squad and club and we are not looking to sell him, and therefore we have turned down the offer currently on the table.”
