Manchester City close on Bravo
Manchester City have agreed a deal with Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, according to Barcelona-based newspaper SPORT, and he will travel to England this week to finalise details.
The 33-year-old is reportedly willing to accept that he has lost the battle to be Barca number 1 to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, with the Spanish champions waiting for a £21.5million bid.
City are haggling over the fee but are now understood to be close to the Nou Camp club’s valuation and will to be able to register Bravo for their Champions League campaign.
Bravo arrived in Catalunya at the request of Luis Enrique when he first took over as Barca boss in 2014. But despite winning the starting job ahead of German starlet Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, the club’s hierarchy and - more recently - coaching staff understand that they must promote Ter Stegen or lose him.
