Calleri confirms West Ham move is a 'done deal'

The 22-year-old striker announced that he will join the Hammers at the end of Argentina's Olympic Games campaign, after shining in the Libertadores with Sao Paulo this year

Former Boca Juniors forward Jonathan Calleri has affirmed that he has completed a deal to move to West Ham United on loan.

The Argentine, 22, was most recently at Sao Paulo, where he finished as top scorer in the 2016 Copa Libertadores with nine goals.

He left the Brazilian giants after exiting the Libertadores at the semi-final stage, and revealed his next destination on Monday. "The transfer to West Ham is already completed," he confirmed to ESPN.

"I hope I can adapt as soon as possible to the Premier League."

The loan deal will be for 12 months, and does not include a purchase option.

Calleri is currently in Rio de Janeiro, where he will compete in the Olympic Games as part of Argentina's Under-23 team.
