While players across Europe are happy to be back with their team-mates to begin preparations for the new season, Cristiano Ronaldo is delighted to be reunited with another familiar face.

But the European champion was full of smiles as he received kisses from one of the loves of his life... his dog.

Ronaldo posted a picture on Instagram of him holding his dog as he relaxes by a swimming pool, with the caption: "My baby miss me."
